tired. Lot of new work. Restocked my work at the Creative Native gallery -- I / WE got a blurb in the Dupont Registery THIS MONTH thru August. They even mentioned one of my original signs...the one that is the song I'm trying to sell Jimmy Buffet. That's pretty ... well heady stuff!

Got together my work to restock Restless Native. Checked out the situation at the Hardrock Casino. It was an interesting thing because I found this whole hidden travel promo scene that is the comp gig at casinos. My work may go on a small tour of casinos. They say there's some money in Mississippi. Won $42 while I was there. I don't know if this event is going to be $$, but the road might be. Hopefully I can get an "in."

??? Right? Who knew? Which was kick in the pants about unseen, lucrative markets in FUN places.

Back on the Key. About to nap with the Sadie. Had some orders on my email. Slopped through the 8 orders I had to do...now I've got 4 more to do. Not too bad. Custom orders are sort of like roadside shows you don't have to drive to...

This week I'll be selling at Bradenton Beach in the morning and Gulfport at night.

Monday I'm meeting with a lady about a private show I'm doing for a community center. If this works, I'm going to try to do more. Sort of like Tupperware parties with beer and drinking signs.

I wanted to do a live paint your own sign event...but I'm not sure how to manage it. I don't have a problem throwing it for free for fun...but don't know how to manage it.

Sleepy..beat...

But have 4 new selling signs so when season hits...I'm going to have stuff that'll...well, it's going to be a good season. I have built a strong line of original work that outsells other work and makes me more than if I sat around selling Margaritaville signs.

And that's something to say. I'm not selling someone else's version of life...but I am beginning to sell my OWN version. But honest, right now, I'd love to be LIVING my version of my own life. I should be able to this week. Have enough work to lay down and swim this week.

another day of being bitten, chewed on and just terrorized by various bugs of the region trying to get ready for the two show week....
July 4...Gulfport 10am-10pm.
July 5...Bradenton Beach 8am-3pm.

July 6....I'll be drinking my bathing top off right on my beach. Serious.

Going through my inventory, you would believe the amount of work I've sold and adopted out.

The wonderful thing about it all is ... in a way, I think my sort of reputation is that of the slightly beloved local beer guru. She of heart, work and a love for a good time.

I can deal with it.

Custom work for the week includes repainting a version of a stick sign a couple bought 8 years ago in Key West when they got married. Painting a guy's pug. Doing a big sign for a displaced Florida family. All FEEL GOOD, warm stuff.

For you see the art I do is strangely all about love, life, the heart, the things we love dearly, the things we honor and all of that. It is a good life. An honor.
