Walked by, but didn't go into the Barefoot Florist. On some days she has artist "trunk" events where artists sell out of their trunks!
Barefoot Florist

Golden Lion Cafe...Tiki---the beach famous bartender can make you remarkable drinks..even the old school Planter's Punch like it was created. He also does a Sex with an Alligator shot I do so recommend. Best dinner: Steak and Fries

Again, for years running...best low key place to vacation. You can also arrange for surf lessons from a local champion. Pet friendly and on a portion of the beach that allows dogs. The tiki bar is closed, but available for rental for parties, special events +++. If you're a writer or a person who needs some calm space---this is a MUST before they sell it. :(

I'm not sure the old Boothill is the same, but I when I when there they had liquor, food and children running about. So much for old skool sex on the tables...but it is a classic, though more than gently commodified. The real biker bars maybe now down US 1 running every mile down to the White Eagle. I bought their sticker anyway for the Ford. The Boothill is across from a cemetery. It's shirrts have read for decades: Sit down and take a seat. You're better off here than across the street.

Daytona Beach Boardwalk arcades are now down to TWO. A lot of old carnie classics gone, gone, gone. I got $5 in quarters, loaded up a game with a machine gun and had one HELL of a time. The beer is still as affordable as the corn dogs. Apparently this old strip is being eaten up by something called the boardwalk project. Apparently it has plans to go "downtown disney" like the other fine sinful walk ...Times Square.

Martin's Restaurant and Lounge ( known as Martin's Steakhouse ), Flagler Beach
It gets a lot of thumbs up and down..but if you're given to enjoying a haunch of meat...this is the place. I think the Filet Mignon and stuffed lobster $24.95 is a solid good old steakhouse deal. The King Prime Rib is a man favorite. I got stuck next to the Golden Girls Gone WILD when I was there...UNUSUAL.

Poor Walt's Bar & Package Store...does not have a website. It is were the locals drink. It is a very dark bar with a horseshoe shaped bar. If you're read any of my rantings you know I'm a fan of the horseshoe shaped bar as it creates fascinating cross talk. Nikki the morning bartender is top notch. I overheard her use a saying that I'm going to have to steal...Get the Sand out of your Vagina.

Finn's Beachside Pub...I love this place. It is On A1A and you can see the infamous pier where seriously they catch sharks that are too large for comfort. Finn's is the only place in Flagler I've never picked up a man or met fun people. I did go on a date there once that ended...oddly. So, it is good for a view at the least. They gave away a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving dinner to anyone have two cocktails.

Mother's is gone. May that old whore of a bar rest in peace.

I finally ate some crabs at High Tides Snack Shack though I remain disappointed at the East Coast thing of serving UNlocal crab. However, watching the shrimp boats go back and forth calmed me down. "Satellite" is still 7203 on the juke box. They also have a lot of biker bar music and Marley on it. Still laid back and virtually slipping into the sea.

Senor Slims has replaced beachview Adobe Gila's on Daytona Beach's boardwalk. Affordable Mexican sort of quesadilla joint. A tasty build your own quesadilla starts at $5.99. Great tasty food at a low cost. Top of the line heavy handed drink pours too. If you do Daytona on a budget, you'll have to put this on your list.

Pegasus by the sea books...has an extraordinary sales labrador called Captain Brody. He made me buy two picture books of ships and boats. I was powerless.

Down by the Sea is a unique gift shop that demonstrates that shell art can be a fine art...and other wonders including affordable new gift books. I finally bought "The Four Agreements"..
